Why We Started

Most lighting sites try to show you everything at once. We do the opposite. Vora Lighting exists because sorting through thousands of near-identical fixtures to find the handful worth buying is tedious, and because "sustainable" is too often a marketing word rather than a real property of how something is made. We narrow the field ourselves, so you don't have to.

How We Choose

Every fixture that makes it into the collection is judged on three things: the materials it's built from, how long it's likely to last, and whether the brand behind it can tell us where the components came from. We favour LED-native designs, recyclable metals and glass over composite plastics, and manufacturers who repair rather than replace. Styles range from a plain flush ceiling light for a hallway to a statement chandelier for a dining room, but the standard behind the selection doesn't change from one end of the range to the other.

We're not the biggest catalogue in UK lighting, and that's deliberate. A smaller range means every listing has actually been looked at rather than pulled in wholesale from a supplier feed with no further thought.

What We're Working On

We're gradually pushing every brand we work with towards clearer packaging disclosure and lower-waste shipping, and we drop anything that stops meeting our bar rather than keeping it listed for the sake of catalogue size.
